The importance of fiber in cable MSO broadband access networks continues to increase. Deep-fiber versions of broadband HFC architectures are evolving toward FTTH in the form of PON, Active Ethernet, and RF over glass (RFoG). Fiber has an even greater role in supporting cable MSO broadband services to businesses.
