Early development efforts for 16x Fibre channel are proceeding ahead of the completion of the new standard. In anticipation of the new market need, many transceiver and component vendors are evaluating new and existing designs at the 14.025 Gb/s data rate. We will outline the key performance requirements and corresponding measurement methods for transmitter and receiver evaluation.

He has held a wide range of positions in Marketing, R&D and Manufacturing and is currently responsible for the enterprise and telecom communications test market for SyntheSys Research. Charlie earned his Master’s Degree in Engineering from the University of South Florida.

Pavel is a Senior Product Engineer with the High Performance oscilloscopes group of Tektronix. Pavel has been with Tektronix for over 20 years, working in test engineering, design, and marketing of both real time and sampling oscilloscopes; he has several patents awarded and pending. Currently he focuses on high speed Serial Data applications of oscilloscopes. Pavel represents Tektronix in the IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) standard body, and contributes to several other standards. He sits on a popular DesignCon panel, authored papers to industry's conferences and published in industry magazines.
