Vecima Networks (TSX:VCM) will demonstrate Entra, its new DOCSIS 3.1 Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) platform at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Philadelphia. The live demonstration of the Entra platform is intended to highlight delivery of multi-gigabit broadband speeds using DOCSIS 3.1 for the first time.
The Entra access solution consists of Ethernet-centric remote access nodes and virtual controller software to support distributed architectures. This approach to the network is intended to enable operators to offer multi-gigabit data rates over cable to subscribers without the high costs of running fiber to the home.
"Vecima is looking forward to demonstrating the advanced capabilities of Entra at this year's Cable-Tec Expo and providing insight into how Entra will benefit network operators as capacity continues to grow exponentially," said Sumit Kumar, Vecima Networks' president and CEO. "We are excited to show how the Entra distributed access platform is an optimal path for operators to migrate to gigabit speeds using DOCSIS 3.1."
