At IBC2016 in Amsterdam, Agama Technologies will be launching a new set of cable-focused features intended to enable real-time understanding of cable RF performance across the whole network.
The new Cable RF visualization and fault detection tools are designed to give real-time insight into the cable infrastructure's performance, while detecting any problems. Using metrics from the subscribers' devices, the incoming data is processed and analyzed in real time to generate actionable alerts: identifying which multiplexes are impacted with RF degradation, where in the network the problems have occurred, and the number of affected customers for each problem.
The information is intended to let an operations team be proactive, handle incidents, and prioritize to minimize downtime and service degradation.
"We all know that the RF part of the cable distribution network is where a large proportion of problems occur, and providing better insights in this area is crucial," said Johan Görsjö, director of product management at Agama.
