Shaw Communications (TSX:SJR.B) announced a new partnership with TransLink to provide WiFi connectivity to its SeaBus ferry route in Vancouver, BC. The SeaBus crosses Burrard Inlet to connect Vancouver and North Vancouver and ferries nearly 6 million passengers each year.

Beginning this week, Shaw Go WiFi will be available to all SeaBus passengers at both the Waterfront and Lonsdale Quay terminals for free to Shaw customers and non-customers alike. As part of the deal,Shaw Go WiFi will be installed on all TransLink SeaBus ferries in the coming months.

Shaw has been steadily expanding its WiFi footprint over the last few years, providing about 75,000 hotspots in western Canada and free municipal WiFi in several towns. The company also recently boosted its WiFi speeds.
