Comcast's (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Stream TV service is now available to current Xfinity Internet-only customers in the company's Greater Boston Region, which includes eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. Stream TV is a streaming video service that includes access to live channels from all the major broadcast networks and HBO as well as thousands of on demand choices.
The service includes on demand content that can be watched at home or on-the-go over WiFi, and includes a cloud DVR and access to TV Everywhere via the Xfinity TV app.
The service will cost Greater Boston customers $15 per month (including the broadcast TV fee) plus local taxes and fees, which will vary by market. The first month is free. Users can sign up at http://www.xfinity.com/stream for immediate access.
Comcast plans to make Stream TV available across its entire service area by early 2016.
