ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) has announced its first DOCSIS 3.1 modems for operators and retailers.
Australian service provider Telstra is deploying the ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) E6000 Converged Edge Router (CER) as it expands its cable network capacity on the DOCSIS 3.0 platform.
"The ARRIS E6000 will allow us to deliver fixed broadband cable services using the DOCSIS 3.0 standard to customers on HFC over the next 18 months," said David Piltz, director, fixed and data engineering, for Telstra.
The E6000 CER is based on the CCAP specification and is currently deployed with such operators as TURKSAT, DELTA, Liberty Global (NASDAQ:LBTYA), Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), SK Broadband, GCI (NASDAQ:GNCMA), and WOW!.
