Blonder Tongue, Zixi Team on IP Encoding

Blonder Tongue (NYSE:BDR) and Zixi have teamed up to create a broadcast encoder that utilizes unmanaged public Internet networks as a way to deliver IP video. Blonder Tongue's LiveCast encoder leverages the Zixi software development kit (SDK) to integrate the Zixi Feeder inside the encoder.

The LiveCast encoder locally encodes a live stream from an SDI source. The output is an H.264 HD or SD stream that is encapsulated in the Zixi transport protocol and sent over the public Internet to a cloud-based video media server or service provider for future processing into the multiscreen workflow. Zixi incorporates a UDP-based protocol for bandwidth optimization, error correction, packet loss recovery and clock sync technologies.

The combined solution will be shown at the NAB Show in Las Vegas.
