According to ABI Research, worldwide public WiFi hotspot deployments reached 5.69 million in 2014, and they are expected to grow at a CAGR of 11.2% between 2015 and 2020 to reach 13.3 million in 2020. The numbers include public WiFi hotspots deployed by mobile and fixed-line carriers as well as third-party WiFi service providers.
