AT&T (NSYE:T) says it has transitioned all of its Austin, TX, U-verse with GigaPower customers to speeds of up to 1 Gbps and has doubled the reach of the fiber network in Austin and surrounding communities. The service initially launched with 300 Mbps speeds, and the gigabit upgrade is at no charge.

AT&T is also preparing to offer increased WiFi speeds in the homes of new and existing GigaPower customers. The telco expects to double current in-home WiFi speeds, also at no charge, once available.
