ComSonics has launched Mobile Problem Locator (MPL), designed to help cable operators maintain their plant. The application runs on either Apple or Android based smart devices and is intended to be used by technicians to report field problems by allowing them to capture photos, messages, and map locations. The captured field data is sent to ComSonics’ web-based Genacis application, where it can be managed either in a standalone environment or integrated into an operator’s existing workforce management system.
The application is designed to report on leakage, physical damage to the cable plant, and other related issues including power and telephone line communication problems. It also allows technicians to plot cellular towers on the Genacis map in order to better understand the impact of LTE signaling on the cable plant.
