Guavus announced that Roger Brooks has joined the company as chief scientist. Brooks is an expert in information analytics based on large-scale machine learning and advancing the use of data mining to help businesses strengthen IT operations, engineer new products, optimize marketing and deliver real-time personalized content.

Brooks has held various executive positions including an eight-year tenure at Hewlett-Packard, most recently as chief architect in new HP software. Before joining HP, he co-founded and led start-ups in the information analytics and mobile data services spaces including the development of systems for multimedia networking and the delivery of video to cell phones. He holds numerous patents and is also a published author on analytics topics including text mining, behavioral analytics and multi-channel marketing optimization. Brooks spent the first half of his career in academia as a theoretical particle physicist at Stanford University and MIT.
