ITT Industries Inc. has announced plans to establish a new electronic connectors product and prototype design center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The company says the design center will increase both the speed and number of new product development projects for the communications market.
The Harrisburg Design Center (HDC) will be part of ITT's Cannon connector and switch business. HDC will complement Cannon's worldwide engineering and prototype labs by including a staff with strength in designing high speed/high density two-piece and fiber optic connectors, as well as electronic analysis.
HDC is scheduled to be operational in the fourth quarter of this year with approximately 15 full-time engineers, designers and shop technicians.
ITT Industries' Cannon division is an international supplier of connectors, interconnects, cable assemblies, switches, keypads, multi-function grips, panel switch assemblies, I/O card kits, smart card systems and LAN components, as well as a provider of high-speed/high-bandwidth network systems and services.
