Newbridge Networks (Kanata, ON, Canada) was selected by Cooperativa de Telecommunicaciones de Santa Cruz Ltda. (COTAS--Santa Cruz, Bolivia), to build a new ATM network in South America. The networking solution will offer value-added voice and data services to COTAS`s corporate customers. COTAS is also planning to use the ATM backbone to support voice traffic. With deregulation of long-distance services in Bolivia planned for 2001, COTAS is preparing to position itself for a competitive market.
