TXP partners With NorthStar Communications Group for retrofit installs
OCTOBER 15, 2007 -- NorthStar says it plans to add TXP's kits into its resale portfolio to provide a seamless upgrade path for outside plant cabinet upgrades.
OCTOBER 15, 2007 -- TXP Corp. (search for TXP), an original design manufacturer (ODM) for the telecommunications industry, today announced it has partnered with NorthStar Communications Group Inc. to sell and install its family of outside plant cabinet retrofit kits.
TXP says its retrofit kits enable service providers to freely choose the optimum access option for their network while maintaining an independent choice for how best to rework their last-mile outside plant network. When compared to complete cabinet replacement, the savings provided by retrofit options enable existing outside plant cabinets to be used to house new service delivery systems.
"TXP's range of outside plant cabinet retrofit solutions represents an economically compelling solution for carriers contemplating a major overhaul of their local access infrastructures," assers Bruce McPhee, vice president of engineering at NorthStar. "Using TXP's kits, we are able to facilitate the introduction of almost any new access system into a carrier's existing cabinet footprint. Prior to retrofits, carriers were often forced to displace existing cabinets, even though they often had many years of serviceable life left in them."
NorthStar says it plans to add TXP's kits into its resale portfolio, offering customers a fully integrated hybrid portfolio of products and services that provide a seamless upgrade path for outside plant cabinet upgrades.
"NorthStar's services provide a perfect complement to our retrofit kit offerings," adds Michael C. Shores, TXP president and CEO. "They understand the value that retrofit kits bring to carriers, providing a highly repeatable experience to the customer that can be supported for years to come. By combining TXP's kits with their services, NorthStar is able to provide a full turnkey retrofit solution to its customers, something that just a couple of years ago was thought inconceivable," he contends.
NorthStar's services encompass the planning, design, integration, and installation of complex telecommunications systems, and the company commonly provides these services to some of the largest and most recognized service providers in the industry, say company representatives.
