The AutoStrip, manufactured by 3SAE Technologies Inc., is a pioneering new product breakthrough for many optical manufacturers including fiber Bragg gratings and fused-fiber coupler manufacturers.

The product accomplishes the difficult and potentially hazardous task of removing a section of the fiber's coating (80/250/400 um) without causing any damage or leaving residue on the fiber's bare glass. This eliminates the need for hot acid baths to strip and clean optical fibers at very high strength.

At the touch of a button, the AutoStrip unit automatically adjusts to a specified strip length (2 mm up to 150 mm) and completes the window stripping process, leaving the fiber at near virgin strength (approximately 700 Kpsi). Developed in Sweden and the U.S., the results are precision high speed, higher yield, and greater throughput in window stripping applications.

Its compact, bench-top design is ideal for all optical manufacturing applications. The AutoStrip is PC controllable, making it simple to operate and program. A built in tensile strength linear pull tester makes it an effective solution for today's cost-conscious optical manufacturing factories, research and development laboratories, and contract manufacturers.
