SEPTEMBER 4, 2007 — Tiscali International Network (TINET), based in Boston, MA, named Hibernia Atlantic of Summit, NJ, as a underseas cable carrier to and from Dublin, New York, and several other major metropolitan areas. Hibernia will carry multiple 10-Gbps wavelengths of capacity on its private network, crossing directly from Canada, the U.S., and Europe without single points of failures, landing points, or backhaul routes.
TINet expects to offer higher capacity for U.S. and European customers with the partnership, improving access and resiliency of its cable connections. Hibernia represents a secure cable connection U.S.-to-Europe, said Eric Gutshall, executive VP, sales and marketing, Hibernia. The partnership enables TINet to increase capacity with increased support in the future, as bandwidth demands grow, he added.
TINet also scaled up investment in a U.S.-Hong Kong trans-Pacific capacity to serve Asian and West Coast traffic. Also, TINet upgraded its point of presence in Miami, increasing capacity for the Americas.
