Summary
Transceivers have long been a staple of optical communications networks. But now we’re seeing coherent pluggable optics take on new roles, particularly in router-to-router links for data center interconnect and service provider IP over DWDM and IP/optical layer integration. The value of pluggable optics in open line systems is becoming more apparent as well. Meanwhile, transmission rates are climbing from 400GbE to 800GbE with 1.6TbE on the horizon. This webinar describes these trends across applications and explores how current and emerging modules can best be employed.
