Fiber-optic multiplexer

Fiber-optic multiplexer

The OSD 140D fiber-optic multiplexer transmits eight RS-232 channels, each consisting of a high-speed (up to 100-kbit/sec) data line and two lower-speed (to 20-kbit/sec) control lines. Each channel is connected to external equipment via a 25-pin female D connector. The OSD 140RJ multiplexer trans mits 8 high-speed and 16 lower-speed channels. Each channel is data only and interfaces to external equipment via an RJ-12 connector. Both units have built-in bit-error-rate monitoring, link-status and fault-finding indicators. They operate over a span of 5 km of multimode fiber; units capable of spanning 20 km over singlemode fiber are also available on special order.
