Teem Photonics debuts space-saving splitter array series at OFC

March 18, 2003 --Teem Photonics of Grenoble, France, is introducing a new splitter array series that will enable system integrators to increase space savings in network system designs. Planar splitters are used to split or combine optical power in optical fiber networks and systems. By having multiple configurations of planar splitters in one compact package, system designers significantly cut back on the quantity of discrete splitters deployed, gaining more network system space.

The splitter array series feature 8x(1x2), 16x(1x2), 4x(1x8), 8x(1x4), 2x(1x16) and other configurations and measure 70x13x5.6 mm. All configurations yield very low insertion loss, low return loss and meet broadband specifications.

Designed for use in high density modules for cable television, fiber-to-the-home, and passive optical networks, as well as DWDM systems, the splitter array series is manufactured using proprietary platform technology and complies with industry standards, Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221, for reliability and performance. Teem Photonics is planning to display the splitter array series at OFC 2003, March 25-27, in booth 2130.
