EPIK Communications to provide AT&T with OC-48 capacity on its Southeast network
Sept. 10, 2001--EPIK will provide AT&T Wireless with a high-capacity circuit (OC-48) on its Southeast network for a minimum of four years.
EPIK Communications Incorporated (EPIK), the telecommunications subsidiary of Florida East Coast Industries, Inc. (NYSE: FLA, FLA.b) (FECI), announced it has signed a contract with AT&T Wireless worth approximately $9 million. EPIK will provide AT&T Wireless with a high-capacity circuit (OC-48) on its Southeast network for a minimum of four years.
EPIK provides bandwidth services on a high-speed, high-capacity OC-192c (10 Gbps) backbone network. This DWDM (dense wave division multiplexing) network currently connects 11 major Southeast markets, including Atlanta, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, and Miami.
