Go!Foton offers RFoG GigaNode Transceiver for FTTP deployments

OCTOBER 14, 2010 -- Go!Foton has introduced the GigaNode RFoG (ZVRF1G5-X) transceiver that supports wideband optical video from 55 MHz to 1.6 GHz. The transceiver supports GPON, GEPON, Turbo EPON, and XG-PON at rates up to 10G.

The use of the GigaNode Transceiver in conjunction with other components from Go!Foton (including the ZVRF1G5-X Video Transmitter, ZVRFRP-1G Return Path Receiver, NG-PON CWDM module, 1:64 splitter, and XGPON OLT and ONU transceivers) will be incorporated into a demonstration at the company’s booth at SCTE Cable-Tec.

Go!Foton was formed in 2009 through a management buyout of NSG Telecommunications Division. Earlier this year, Go!Foton acquired Zenko Technologies and added PON transceivers, ICs, and optical video products to its portfolio.

"This is the first product released after Go!Foton acquired Zenko," commented Dr. Yusuke Ota, now CTO of Go!Foton Group. "This product is future-proof for MSOs, as it is compatible with next-generation PON technology."
