9-pin footprint

9-pin footprint

AMP Inc., Harrisburg, PA, and United Kingdom-based Northern Telecom Optoelectronics announced their support of a common 9-pin footprint to be used in singlemode asynchronous transfer mode network applications. The companies will independently develop and supply interchangeable fiber-optic transceivers, enabling multiple, international sourcing. The transceivers will meet common specifications for power-supply voltage requirements, pin assignments, package configuration and overall footprint and local interfaces.
