Adtran says it is supplying its FSP 3000 to CSquared for use in a wholesale fiber network across parts of West Africa. The 350-km open access backbone fiber network will run from Liberia’s capital of Monrovia to the border of Guinea and the Ivory Coast.
CSquared, with the backing of Google, the IFC, Mitsui, and Convergence Partners, and in partnership with USAID, is establishing itself as Liberia’s only wholesale fiber infrastructure provider, according to Adtran. The service provider is deploying Adtran’s FSP 3000 open optical transport system to support 100-Gbps wavelength traffic. The ROADM-based network will transmit these wavelengths across the 350 km without the need for regeneration.
The complete technology suite also includes Adtran’s FSP 150 Ethernet access devices and ALM real-time fiber assurance platform.
