Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) announced the launch of Xfinity in UHD, a 4K/UltraHD on-demand video programming app for 2014 Samsung UHD TVs. Debuting with current seasons of TV shows from NBC and USA Network, the Xfinity in UHD app library will continue to expand with on-demand programming across multiple networks and studios and is free to Xfinity TV customers whose video subscription includes participating networks. The app also includes parental controls, closed captioning, and audio preferences.
The MSO also plans to bring the app's content catalog to Xfinity TV Go platforms next year.
In other Comcast news, the MSO has launched a new Xfinity My Account App feature to eliminate waiting on hold when calling for customer service. The new feature is designed to let subs schedule a time for a Comcast representative to call them to resolve the issue.
