Una nueva investigación de Quantum Web muestra que los precios de banda ancha fija e inalámbrica en América Latina y Norteamérica disminuyeron durante el primer trimestre de 2014 con respecto al trimestre anterior. En países como Brasil, Uruguay y Chile, los operadores utilizaron tecnologías como fibra óptica y LTE para mejorar los sistemas y reducir los precios. Sin embargo, en países con tecnología limitada, la banda ancha sigue siendo costosa y se prevé que lo siga siendo en el corto plazo.
