According to IHS Technology (NYSE:IHS), the global telehealth market is expected to grow by a factor of more than 10 from 2013 to 2018, as medical providers increasingly employ remote communications and monitoring technology.

Worldwide revenue for telehealth devices and services is expected to reach $4.5 billion in 2018, up from $440.6 million in 2013. The number of patients using telehealth services is expected to rise to 7 million in 2018, up from fewer than 350,000 in 2013.
