TWC Bids on NC Network Project

Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC) has formally submitted a bid to play an integral role in the North Carolina Next Generation Network (NCNGN) project. The NCNGN is a regional initiative to support educational and economic development by accelerating the deployment of ultra-high-speed Internet access.TWC Business Class currently serves 25 school systems across the state, providing 16 of those systems and more than 717 schools with Internet speeds up to 1 Gbps. To date, Time Warner Cable has invested more than $1.5 billion and built more than 28,000 miles of fiber and coax infrastructure throughout the areas covered in the NCNGN request for proposal.
