At CES 2018 in Las Vegas, Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) is demonstrating technologies for cloud-powered, app-driven video services, ranging from cloud DVR to OTT and mobile.

Cisco's Infinite Video Platform uses a virtual cloud stack to deliver secured video experiences to all consumer devices from one platform.

"Our customers seek the agility a cloud platform provides to deliver video entertainment to their subscribers in new ways," said Damian Mulcock, vice president and general manager, Cisco Service Provider Video Software and Solutions. "We are helping them deliver on their future vision for video with our Infinite Video Platform and cloud DVR to facilitate recordings to any device, and with our innovation around IP delivery, we are leading the market in simplifying how service providers can efficiently manage their networks and deliver video services faster."

In other Cisco news, the company announced a consumption-based pricing plan for its cBR-8 CCAP. Cisco's Infinite Broadband Unlocked (IBU) is a licensing program designed to improve the economics of offering multi-gigabit DOCSIS-based services via distributed access cable architectures employing Remote PHY (RPHY) technology. IBU licensing is aligned to the number of subscribers across the network, so license investment is aligned with revenues. The IBU licensing plan is available for current and new cBR-8 customers worldwide.
