Mississippi-based MaxxSouth Broadband is deploying fiber-to-the-home (FTTH)-based 1 Gbps Internet service for its customers in Starkville, MS. The new network is expected to come online within the next few weeks.

Last year, MaxxSouth launched an FTTH network launched in Carthage, MS. In November 2014, MaxxSouth acquired the group of cable systems formerly serviced by MetroCast Mississippi. MaxxSouth is a subsidiary of Block Communications, the same company that owns Buckeye CableSystem in Ohio.
