In Santa Barbara, CA, Cox Communications has doubled the speeds of its High Speed Internet Preferred and High Speed Internet Premier service tiers. The two packages represent more than 75% of Cox's high-speed Internet customers. Preferred has been upgraded from 25 Mbps to 50 Mbps, and Premier has been upgraded from 50 Mbps to 100 Mbps. Cox has also upgraded its High Speed Internet Ultimate package from 100 Mbps to 150 Mbps.

The company announced a similar upgrade in San Diego last week, and also plans to offer gigabit speeds in all of its markets by the end of 2016.
