Midco invests $500 million in fiber network surrounding Sioux Falls, SD

In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Midco announced it is is "leaping ahead" with its Fiber Forward initiative, an expansive investment that uses the company’s robust fiber network and next generation fiber technology to bring 10 Gigabit speeds to the region.

“Fiber Forward is an investment in people. This transformative fiber upgrade will benefit the many folks that we serve,” said Midco's president and CEO Pat McAdaragh.

McAdaragh added, “Two years ago, we announced our vision to bring 10G to everyone. It will provide fast symmetrical speeds, low latency, unmatched reliability, and rock-solid security. After much research and testing, we’re set to deploy a mix of next-gen fiber technologies to our customers.”

Fiber Forward will begin this year in the Sioux Falls area and surrounding communities to deliver fiber upgrades, enhanced product offerings, and increased broadband performance. Over the next few years, more than 150,000 homes and businesses throughout South Dakota will benefit from the program's future-proof investment, stated Midco.

“Connecting the entire state of South Dakota to high-speed internet is a top priority of mine as governor,” commented South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. “Midco’s significant investment in our state is helping make that vision a reality. The faster speeds that they are bringing to South Dakota communities will help drive our economy forward for years to come.”
