605 says its Audience App, built for Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR), has achieved service organization control 3 (SOC 3) compliance. Audience App uses anonymized and aggregated subscriber viewing data, combined with third-party consumer data, to target specific consumer attributes. An independent SOC 3 audit and review performed by KPMG indicated that the company met "trust services principles" established by the AICPA related to security, availability, confidentiality and processing integrity with respect to Charter's proprietary information, including its set-top box viewing data.

"Development and support of data processing applications are at the core of the products we offer at 605. We take a great deal of pride in our product offerings and our high standards for the handling of data and the development of our software," said Colleen Moraghan, senior vice president, Data Operations & MVPD Solutions. "During every step of the data lifecycle - including access, protection, storage and cleansing - 605 applies rigorous infrastructure and practices in the handling and processing of data and the development of our products and services."

KPMG's report also indicated that viewership data handled by 605's audience measurement and media planning services platform is appropriately transferred, quality-checked, encrypted and processed.

"This SOC 3 compliance certification for Audience App underscores 605's promise and sets the firm apart from so many others newly entering the industry," said David Kline, president, Spectrum Reach, and executive vice president, Charter. "We trust 605 to manage our proprietary data in a stable software platform that has become a core foundation of our ad sales organization. 605 provides Charter valuable peace of mind that the product and service we receive are subject to exceptional rigor and protections."
