Netflix Gives Speed Index its own Site
Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) has launched the "Netflix ISP Speed Index," a new web site that lists ISP speeds for the eight countries where Netflix operates. The over-the-top (OTT) provider says the site will be updated monthly. Data from February indicates:
- At 3.35 Mbps, Google Fiber in the United States provides the highest average streaming bitrate anywhere Netflix is available.
- Sweden's Ownit delivers the second-highest average bitrate at 2.99 Mbps.
- On average, Finland has the highest bitrates, while Mexico has the lowest.
- Scandinavia delivered averages of more than 2 Mbps.
