Among the Harmonic distribution and delivery products being demonstrated at IBC this year will be the ProStream 4000 multiscreen transcoder. It's designed for adaptive streaming applications for OTT and mobile TV services. New capabilities include increased scalability, H.264 video encoding, multi-encapsulation, and expanded compatibility with a range of CDNs and DRM software.To manage multiscreen and OTT applications, the ProStream 4000's high-density configuration is now designed to support the simultaneous processing of up to 48 video inputs and 48 legacy mobile phone, 18 iPhone, 12 SD, or four transcoded HD video outputs per single rack unit (1-RU). It supports video formats such as Apple HTTP Live Streaming, Microsoft Smooth Streaming, and Adobe HTTP Dynamic Streaming, as well as multi-bitrate transport streams for NDS and Widevine adaptive streaming.Other Harmonic products on display at the show will include the Omneon MediaGrid V3.0 active storage system, Omneon Spectrum MediaCenter multichannel media server and the Omneon MediaPort 7000 series of video I/O modules.
