14 November 2002 -- Tele2 Sweden, part of Tele2 AB, has chosen Nokia to deliver the Redback SmartEdge 800 Router for a range Internet and Intranet services for enterprises.
The frame agreement initially covers deliveries to Tele2 in Sweden, but can be extended to other European countries where Tele2 AB operates. Nokia will supply the SmartEdge 800 Router and related support services.

The SmartEdge800 Router is targeted at IP edge applications such as dedicated access services, Layer 3 and Layer 2 VPNs and selective backbone core applications.
The router's support of virtual interfaces allows customers to switch between different types of VPNs. VPNs work in conjunction with the platform's unique virtual router feature to support separate IP address space, routing table, protected network traffic, and user authentication for each VPN.
The product is distinguished by a number of features for operators and service providers that focus on delivering highly reliable IP services today with flexibility to support new IP services in the future.
