DECEMBER 7, 2007 -- The latest study by The Radicati Group Inc., "European Broadband Market, 2007-2011," offers an in-depth analysis of the Western European market for Fixed Broadband Internet. It provides market size, installed base market share, and four-year forecasts of broadband access technologies.

The study finds that in 2007, the installed base comprises 92 million broadband Internet lines. This is projected to grow to 118 million lines and a total market revenue of € 34.6 billion in 2011. However, there are major differences between markets in different countries, say analysts.

The main trends behind the strong growth are continuous market consolidation, decreasing prices, product bundling with value-added services, and a shift towards faster network access technologies, such as Fiber-to-the-Home.
