Lucent Technologies (Murray Hill, NJ) will invest $10 million in its Lucent Technologies Network

Lucent Technologies (Murray Hill, NJ) will invest $10 million in its Lucent Technologies Network (Bangpakong, Thailand) plant to manufacture fiber-optic cables to meet the needs of network operators in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. Production is scheduled to begin in mid-1999. Lucent also announced the acquisition of lannet (Tel Aviv), a subsidiary of Madge Networks NV (Wexham Springs, UK), for $117 million to further expand Lucent?s data networking product line. lannet becomes part of Lucent?s Enterprise Infrastructure Products Group and will continue operations from Israel.
