Nortel Australia (Sydney, Australia), a subsidiary of Nortel (Brampton, ON, Canada), announced the acquisition of a 33% equity stake in Photonic Technologies, a Sydney-based designer and manufacturer of optical photonic components for telecommunications applications. Nortel`s U.K.-based Optoelectronics Div. will work closely with Photonic to develop new applications and markets.
