June 18, 2004 Austin, TX -- OnFiber Communications, Inc., a metro network solutions provider, has acquired a majority of the assets and all customer contracts of C2C Fiber of Massachusetts, LLC, a competitive carrier operating in the Boston metropolitan area.
With an all-optical architecture serving enterprise and service provider locations, the C2C Fiber network covers approximately 350 route miles in over 25 cities and towns throughout the Boston area. Managed network services are provided to commercial buildings in the Interstate 495 high-tech corridor west of Boston through a dense fiber network unique to C2C Fiber.
The acquisition of C2C Fiber's assets significantly expands OnFiber's network footprint in the Boston market and enables local customers to leverage OnFiber's nationwide resources. Additionally, OnFiber's broader product set, including the AdaptiveBuild enterprise solution, is expected to appeal to current and potential customers.
"By making strategic acquisitions this year, we expect to accelerate our growth with enterprises and expand our overall footprint for our carrier customers," said Danny Bottoms, president and CEO of OnFiber. "C2C Fiber is a good fit for OnFiber, as it gives us broader reach in a key market. We expect a smooth integration and look forward to building upon the strong foundation C2C Fiber developed."
