The company aims to deliver 2000MW of capacity.

On January 8, the DAMAC-owned digital infrastructure company EDGNEX Data Centers announced its plans to enter the United States data center market with an initial investment of $20 billion to deliver a target capacity of 2000MW over the next four years. The company further reports plans to double the investment in the future based on demand, market opportunity, and scalability.

The expansion plan is focused on eight states: Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas. The capacity buildout will occur in phases and will begin with land and utility acquisitions as well as procuring existing data centers and platforms.

DAMAC founder Hussain Sajwani said the expansion is an exciting moment for the company.

“Our foray into the U.S. market in data centers represents a significant milestone in our journey to build a global digital infrastructure platform that will empower businesses today and in the future,” said Sajwani in a press release. “Leveraging our expertise in real estate and data centers, we aim to deliver best-in-class infrastructure that supports the next wave of cloud and AI growth, helping further position the U.S. in the technology and global data ecosystem.”

EDGNEX currently operates 10 countries: Finland, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, Türkiye, and the United Arab Emirates. The company has a projected capacity of more than 1000MW and intends to have 300MW operational by 2026.
