RCN Business adds 100-Gbps transmission to Ethernet backbone network

RCN Business says it has upgraded of its Ethernet backbone network with 100-Gbps links. The fiber-optic network enhancement will enable the company to offer Ethernet services from 3 Mbps to 100 Gbps.

RCN Business says it has upgraded of its Ethernet backbone network with 100-Gbps links. The fiber-optic network enhancement will enable the company to offer Ethernet services from 3 Mbps to 100 Gbps.

The MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 certified services provider supports small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and enterprises in the healthcare, finance, media, education and government sectors via a wholly owned network in major markets across the Northeast and Midwest. These include Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley (PA), Washington, DC, and New York City. RCN Business offers a suite of Ethernet services including E-Line, E-LAN, and E-Access to enable businesses to connect multiple offices, data centers, and other locations.
