Telefónica Colombia deploys Coriant Groove G30 for 100G data center interconnect services

Coriant says it will now supply its Groove G30 muxponder platform to Telefónica Colombia. Building on its existing end-to-end packet optical network, Telefónica Colombia will use the 1RU data center interconnect (DCI) platform to provide 100G interconnect services to large enterprises and web-scale internet operators, Coriant attests.

Telefónica Colombia has worked with Coriant on its fiber-optic network since 2006, according to Hernán Felipe Cucalón Merchán, director de redes (network manager) at the service provider. Along with the Groove G30 platform deployment, Coriant has supplied Telefónica Colombia with such metro to long-haul packet optical transport systems as the Coriant hiT 7300 Multi-Haul Transport Platform and the Coriant mTera Universal Transport Platform.

The integrated infrastructure will enable Telefónica Colombia to increase deployed network resource use, says Coriant. Telefónica Colombia can also reduce capex, while advancing service provision and minimizing opex with end-to-end service management enabled by the Coriant Transport Network Management System (TNMS).
