Enablence expands ONT portfolio for international markets with advanced services, next-generation line up

FEBRUARY 22, 2010 -- Enablence Technologies Inc. in Ottawa , Canada made several additions to optical network terminals (ONTs) product line.The new products -- ONT-G4x0/ONT-G40x0 G.PON ONT and IEEE 802.3 GE-PON and Active Ethernet ONT-E132xi/ONT G132xi product families -- have a variety of enclosure options for indoor and outdoor deployments, as well as multiple port configurations and support for open access, allows customers to choose the ONT best suited for their individual needs.All of the ONTs are optimized for use with Enablence’s TRIDENT7 Universal Access Platform, an IP/Ethernet-based system geared towards large municipal and telecommunications fiber deployments and overbuilds of existing infrastructure.The ONT-G4x0/ONT-G40x0 G.PON ONT product family is packaged for indoor deployment and uses the latest ITU-T G.PON technology. The ONT product family includes four Ethernet ports on each model (available as Fast Ethernet or Gigabit Ethernet connections). All models also provide an option for two POTs interfaces, supporting VoIP connectivity to ensure Toll Quality voice calls. This product family has been designed to support open access (multiple service provider) applications including IPTV, video-on-demand and high-speed data deployments with service provider quality of service assurance.The IEEE 802.3 GE-PON and Active Ethernet ONT-E132xi/ONT G132xi product family offers network operators and service providers a full service ONT solution capable of auto-sensing the network topology between IEEE 803.3 GE-PON and Active Ethernet. The G132xi provides full support for ITU G.984 compliant GPON. All ONTs in this family include one Gigabit Ethernet, three Fast Ethernet and two POTs interfaces as part of the standard offering and are packaged for indoor deployment.An optional RF Video interface also supports a single fiber RF Video solution for PON and point-to-point applications. “These ONTs are operator friendly and service provider friendly, ensuring easy operational support and quick system integration in multiple deployment scenarios and services models,” says Tim Thorsteinson, President and COO of Enablence.
