Occam Networks completes network upgrade for UBTA-UBET Communications
MAY 10, 2007 -- UBTA-UBET Communications, Utah's largest independent telecommunications service provider, has selected Occam Networks Inc. (search for Occam Networks) to assist with building out services to new homes under construction in UBTA-UBET's service area, which includes Roosevelt and surrounding towns. UBTA-UBET serves more than 20,000 residential and business subscribers with POTS, broadband, and related services.
"Our engineering firm conducted a thorough RFP process to select an access equipment provider for several new upgrade projects," recalls Jeff Goodrich, chief operations officer of UBTA-UBET Communications. "After completing this process, the firm selected Occam Networks based on the company's ability to meet our needs for POTS, DSL, T1 and FTTH today, with the goal of providing IPTV and complete Triple Play services in the future."
"UBTA-UBET's exhaustive selection process demonstrates the quality, flexibility, and scalability of Occam's BLC solution," adds Nathan Harrell, vice president of sales for Occam. "It is very satisfying for us to have been selected by Utah's largest independent telecommunications service provider."
UBTA-UBET Communications has purchased Occam's 6312 Optical Line Termination (OLT) blades, 6252-02 ADSL2Plus and POTS with Gigabit Ethernet blades, 6440-01 Gigabit Optical Ethernet Transport blades, and 6640-01 Subscriber Trunk Gateway blades.
The carrier's serving area is currently experiencing increased growth due to oil industry activity.
