TXP enters reseller agreement with telecom OEM

MAY 23, 2007 -- TXP Corp. has entered into a reseller agreement with a leading OEM to distribute TXP's BPON ONT units.

MAY 23, 2007 -- TXP Corp. (search for TXP), an original design manufacturer (ODM) for the telecommunications industry, has entered into a reseller agreement with a leading OEM to distribute TXP's BPON (search for BPON) optical network terminal (search for ONT) units to its customers.

"Our new relationship with this Fortune 100 OEM further validates our strategy to become a leading ODM supplier of ONT technology," contends Michael C. Shores, president and CEO of TXP. "Our units are already interoperable with most of the leading optical line terminal [search for ] OEMs and our quick-turn capabilities enable us to launch products for our partners even faster and more cost effectively than traditional providers," he says. "As a result, we are ideally positioned to benefit from the rapid growth in new fiber-to-the-home services."

ONTs are the customer-premise located devices used by a carrier to serve residential and business customers over a PON-based system. PON, a maturing point-to-multipoint technology, is being adopted by telephone companies globally because of its cost effectiveness in extending fiber-based services to the customer premises.
