Remote fiber test system

The Model 9611 rfts remote fiber test system tests fibers up to 200 km from a central location. Integrating access, test, fault location, and an operations system, the unit monitors a fiber network, performs tests, and detects and locates faults, breaks, and other abnormalities without shutting down the network. The device tests up to 48 fibers through a built-in otdr that has a dynamic range over 40 dB and <5-m deadzone. When used in fiber cable construction and installation, the test system verifies the quality of every joint and stores traces of the characteristics of each cable. The unit monitors the fibers by comparing them against the stored traces.
