June 7, 2005 Chicago, IL -- Veraz Networks and Telco Systems have announced the completion of joint interoperability testing, as well as a collaboration to deliver FTTH and voice-over-Broadband platforms to service providers. The companies say their shared commitment to PSTN voice quality engenders superior end-to-end VoIP access and trunking connections.

June 7, 2005 Chicago, IL -- Veraz Networks, a provider of programmable softswitch, service delivery, and media gateway platforms, and Telco Systems, a provider of carrier-class transport and access platforms for TDM and IP networks, have announced the completion of interoperability testing, as well as a collaboration to deliver FTTH and voice-over-Broadband platforms to service providers. The companies say their shared commitment to PSTN voice quality engenders superior end-to-end VoIP access and trunking connections.

In the collaboration, Veraz will include the Telco Access200 family of VoIP Analog Telephone Adapters (ATAs) and EdgeGate CPE FTTH product line as part of the Veraz end-to-end platform for carriers and service providers. Both Telco platforms interoperate with Veraz's ControlSwitch Release 6.0, as well as its I-Gate 4000 Pro media gateway.

"Many of our Carrier Customers are looking for access equipment and devices with similar software interfaces for broadband and FTTH deployments," remarks R. Paul Singh, vice president of business development for Veraz Networks. "We are impressed with Telco systems' strength in this area, and are glad to enable more choices for our customers to quickly deploy new services with Veraz systems."

Citing a shared commitment to voice quality and service transparency, the companies say the I-Gate 4000 Pro, with its voice quality and compression capabilities, in combination with Access200 family, offers superior voice quality for IP to PSTN IP to IP and PSTN to PSTN connections, while offering bandwidth savings through voice compression. The companies note that both products also support the T.38 standard, allowing for efficient fax transmission over IP.

Telco says their Access211 and Access200 VoIP ATAs employ standard telephones and fax machines to enable VoIP telephone capability over broadband access services. Features of the Access211 platform, according to the company, include superior voice quality, integrated routing capability, unique traffic shaping capabilities, and enhanced voice compression technology. The platform also supports SIP, MGCP, and H.323 VoIP signaling protocols.

The company says its EdgeGate CPE platform of integrated FTTH IP media gateways delivers triple-play services, supporting up to four analog voice lines (VoIP FXS ports) and eight 10/100BaseTX Ethernet ports. An optical uplink can be configured with either a Fast or Gigabit Ethernet transceiver. The company says the platform suits residential as well as small-to-medium enterprises, and can be deployed indoors or outdoors.

Designed as an overall turnkey platform for service providers, Veraz says its ControlSwitch 6.0 softswitch and service delivery platform now features a programmable subscriber services and management subsystem, and maps to numerous IMS-equivalent software elements. According to the company, in addition to common residential and SOHO service sets built from customizable subscriber service building blocks, the platform also features innovative device management capabilities, including: dynamic device Registration with security; media negotiation for compressed voice, T.38 fax, and voice band modem capabilities; high availability; create, update, and delete IAD / endpoint operations; lock / unlock IAD operations, and device audit / details view operations.

"We are extremely excited by the prospect of working in collaboration with Veraz Networks to deliver voice over broadband services, and FTTH triple-play solutions, to carriers and service providers who are deploying and operating next-generation communication networks," concludes Irit Gillath, Telco's vice president of IP product line management.

The network and subscriber service aspects of the Veraz platform and the voice quality of Telco's Access211 VoIP ATA are on display at Veraz's booth #32073 at Supercomm 2005.
