Transmode has appointed Björn Andersson as vice president of sales. Andersson brings experience with strategic management and solution sales within the telecom industry to the management team. Prior to the appointment, he was the director of Transmode’s Solutions Group. His previous management roles include account manager at Sycamore Networks and product manager at Ericsson Telecom. In his new role, Andersson will have global responsibility for Transmode’s sales organization and sales strategy. In other personnel news, Eva Lindqvist, most recently president of TeliaSonera International Carrier, has joined Transmode’s board of directors. Lindqvist joins existing Transmode board members Rune Hurtig (chairman), Mats Dahlin (independent), Simon Cornwell (Amadeus Capital Partners), Tom Nyman (Pod Holding), Alex Rogers (HarbourVest), Magnus Öberg (founder) and Shamil Chandaria (investor).

FiberZone Networks Inc., a provider of automated fiber management (AFM) products for physical fiber-optic infrastructure, has announced the appointment of Hai Pedut as vice president of research and development and Joe Teixeira as vice president of product management. Teixeira has authored a number of patents and has held additional lead engineering positions in the design and development of copper- and optical-based connectivity technologies for such companies as Mux Lab, Orexis, and Western Totalizator. Pedut previously led both professional teams and program managers of scatterometry critical dimension metrology systems at KLA-Tencor US. Prior to that, at Rafael, he led the development of sophisticated and systems such as missile seekers, thermal imaging systems and electro-optical algorithm products.

Keith Schofield has been appointed director, submarine networks, at Pioneer Consulting. Schofield comes from Cable & Wireless, where for 17 years he led submarine network consulting programs, including the world’s first unrepeatered cable to exceed 300 km. He has consulted around the world on submarine infrastructure projects valued in excess of $2 billion, and recently worked with Pioneer on a successful feasibility study for a planned multimillion-dollar cable in the resurgent submarine network marketplace.
