The Iowa Utilities Board

has authorized Teleport Communications Group Inc., Chicago, IL, to offer local telephone exchange service in the Council Bluff-area counties of Pottawattamie, Woodbury, and Cass via a fiber-optic ring network. Teleport Communications already provides service in nearby Omaha, NE. The Omaha-Council Bluffs network includes 165 route-mi of fiber.
